World Breastfeeding Week 2022: Neha Dhupia Felt Humiliated When A Big Mall Kept Sofa In Ladies' Toilet To Breastfeed A Baby: ‘Are You Giving Toilet Space To Moms’-EXCLUSIVE
World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from August 1 to 7 with an aim to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies. In fact, our B-Town actresses and moms have been leaving no stone unturned to create awareness and normalize breastfeeding in the public. And, Neha Dhupia, who is a doting mother to daughter Mehr, is one such celeb who has actively been working towards the same. She also formed a community called ‘Freedom to Feed’ wherein she talked about the need in the current times to normalise breastfeeding.

In an old interview with SpotboyE, the actress asserted that “normalising the conversation around breastfeeding and not trivialising or sexualising it”, is what is going to make a difference in society. Neha also recalled an incident where a restaurant owner in a big mall informed her that they have kept a sofa in the ladies' toilet for breastfeeding. She shared with us, “I still remember when we started this, I called this really big mall in Mumbai to ask them if they’d be willing to come forward and give a little bit of space as charity for mothers to feed. The response that I got from there was that they have already kept a sofa in the ladies’ toilet and that is totally okay.” ALSO READ: Neha Dhupia Shares A Pic Of Her Breastfeeding Mehr After A Woman Slammed A Troll For Asking Her To Share Her Breastfeeding Video; Says 'I Know How Hard It Is'

She added, “But my point is that it is not okay. Are you giving that toilet space to a restaurant for people to go and eat? No, because your restaurants are in open. So why can’t you give a little space to mothers which is comfortable. I believe this is a very important voice that needs to be taken forward.”

Last year in April, the 41-year-old actress shared a picture of her feeding her little baby girl Mehr alongside a thought-proving note. In her lengthy note shared on Instagram, Neha urged everyone to stop sexualising breastfeeding. For the unversed, Neha and her actor husband, Angad Bedi welcomed their first child, daughter Mehr on November 18, 2018.
